Common questions

What does the red “111.4%” or “87.0%” mean on a row?

Yield % = actual tons delivered / theoretical tons at plan depth × 100. Above 100% = mat ran heavy or thicker than plan. Below 100% = mat ran thin / screed running short. Anything more than 5 percentage points off plan turns red as a flag to check the screed.

(The CSV export also includes a fluff_factor column — the same value as a multiplier instead of a percentage — for compatibility with WisDOT / Caltrans yield-check spreadsheets that use that column name.)

How do I switch from US to metric?

Tap the ••• menu (top right) → Settings → Units → Metric. The values you’ve already entered don’t change physically; only how they’re displayed.

How do I change the language?

••• menu → Settings → Change app language. iOS opens its per-app language picker. The change applies on next launch.

My yield % looks wrong on a load.

Check that all five geometry inputs are filled (station start, station end, width, depth, net mass). If any are missing the yield panel won’t compute and the row shows “incomplete”. If all are present and the number still looks wrong, check the station notation:

US: 1 station = 100 ft. 12+50 parses as 12 stations + 50 ft = 1,250 ft.
Metric: 1 station = 1 km. 1+250 parses as 1 station + 250 m = 1,250 m. Note that the input 12+50 in metric mode means 12 km + 50 m = 12,050 m, not 1,250 m — the parser uses whatever station size is active.

Where does my data go?

It stays on your iPhone, in Apple’s SwiftData store. We don’t have servers and we don’t see your data. Backups go through your iCloud Backup of the device (if enabled) — that’s an iOS-level mechanism, not something the app sets up.

How do I export a shift’s data?

Tap the ••• menu (top right) → Export shift → choose PDF or CSV. The PDF is a WisDOT-style yield-check report — Sta from / Sta to / Width / Depth / Net / Plan / Yield / Drift columns, totals row, foreman + inspector signature lines, and a photo appendix for any loads that have a ticket photo attached. The CSV opens in Excel, pastes into the WisDOT submittal, drops into a DOT pipeline.

Can I export a past shift after corrections?

Yes. The Export sheet shows a “Shift” picker as soon as the job has loads on more than one day. Pick any prior shift to regenerate the PDF / CSV — useful when a load was edited after the original export.
